The Tamasopo Waterfalls
Located 1 hour from Ciudad Valles, these waterfalls are surrounded by vegetation-covered mountains and rivers that feed three waterfalls, which then flow into swimming holes. Open daily, from 7:00 to 20:00 hrs.

Located high in the Sierra Madre Oriental mountain range, 64 km (40 miles) to the south of Ciudad Valles, this coffee plantation town houses a surrealistic castle, Las Pozas
Enchanted Garden, and an Agustinian ex convent from 1557.

The Tamtoc Archaeological Site
Located 1 hour and a half from Ciudad Valles, these Huastec ruins house 70 buildings, among them a 30-ton monolith called Monolith 32. Closed Mondays.
