St. Michael the Archangel Parish
This parish church was built in the late 17th century. A new, neo-Gothic facade was later added in 1880 by foreman mason Zeferino Gutierrez, who was inspired by postcards of European cathedrals.

The Nigromante Cultural Center
Formerly a convent of the Conceptionists, this cultural center offers painting, sculpture, and music classes, as well as murals by David Alfaro Siqueiros, a museum, an auditorium, and two art galleries. The Charco del Ingenio (Pond of Ingenuity) Botanical Garden
Located next to the Atascadero Hotel, this 67-hectare (166-acre) garden delights visitors with its natural splendor and surroundings--a dam, a creek, a ravine, and more than 1,000 species of cacti.
