| Ecolodging |
 |
 |
 |
Since the beginning, human beings have sought shelter, and the Earth has provided it. With the passing of time, however, we have built more and more sophisticated dwellings and have forgotten to watch over our one true home—Planet Earth.
A way of looking after our planet is by promoting ecotourism. We need to motivate ecotourists, those adventure-seekers who are always looking for ways to spend as much time as possible in touch with nature. They want to see nature!
From this wish stems the need for Ecolodging. With this type of accommodation, ecotourists, rather than imposing their presence on nature, become fully integrated with natural surroundings. |
|
The main characteristics of ecolodges include the following:
•
Ecolodges are built with native materials, allowing for the harmonious integration of landscapes and people.
• Builders use eco-techniques that save energy and water.
• Ecolodges have implemented garbage separation systems and septic tanks for wastewater disposal, as well as composting technologies.
• They seek to create awareness of ecological matters and promote ecological activities among their guests.
• They show a continued social commitment to local communities.
In keeping with our commitment to protect the environment, we have included a list of the main Ecolodges in our country. We will see to it that new names are added to the list from year to yearo. |
